What is the Cervix?
The cervix is arguably the most sacred and powerful portion of the female reproductive anatomy.
The cervix is the neck of your uterus and has a face (the portion seen at the end of the vaginal canal) and a mouth (the Cervical Os). These characteristics are composed as another one of You, just in the lower half of your body.
The cervix is an actual portal, a sacred doorway between the inner world of a Woman (the uterus) and the outer world of this reality (the vaginal canal – which actually isn’t an internal viscera of the female body). It is a sacred pathway through which the entirety of the Life-Death-Rebirth cycle is contained within the female architecture.
Semen enters this doorway of Life for conception to occur. The cervix is the gateway through which Women can experience the most pleasure (for example, cervical orgasms) and is the place inside the female body which draws a male phallus inward. In fact, if you look at an image of a real cervix, you will see that the structure looks quite like the head of a male penis. When these two body parts merge, the magic of Life occurs. The cervix is a doorway of Death, through which menstrual, abortion and miscarriage blood flows out of the womb and back to the Earth, and is also the portal of Rebirth as a doorway which opens and dilates for a new-human to be birthed into this world.
The Wisdom of the Cervix
Besides being a doorway for the entirety of the Life and Death cycle held within a woman’s body, it is also the keeper of all the memories of everything that has ever penetrated her – both physical and energetic, and both good and bad. Physical penetration is any sexual intercourse or insertion of physical objects/body parts into the vaginal canal, with contact to the cervix. Energetic penetration occurs when the downward force of feminine energy cannot block the upward force of masculine energy, and this energy penetrates through the cervix and hooks into the womb.
The cervix remembers every single one of these experiences, even if the mind tries really hard to block it out. These experiences leave an energetic imprint on the cervix. Given that the cervix is the bridge between the inner and outer world of the female reproductive system, these negative imprints can have detrimental effects on the entirety of our body. These imprints are what I call ‘emotional tethers,’ and these tethers are what lead to disease and un-wellness in the reproductive system.
We are each born into the world with a finite amount of Life Force Energy – the ineffable energy which animates your body and continues it’s functioning without a need to do anything. It is that which beats your heart, helps cells repair and regenerate, and maintains the autonomic functions of the other organ systems.
I invite you to tap into your imagination for a moment:
Imagine, if you will, your finite amount of internal energy being used and expressed as you move through Time. When something adverse or traumatic happens to your body, a piece of you/your energy becomes stuck in that moment in Time. As you continue to move through Time, that piece of you remains in that moment, tethering you to the past. This tether becomes an energy leak, for that fragment of your energy is no longer integrated in your body, and your body then cannot function optimally. When this tether becomes stretched as Time moves on, it creates greater stress on the body.
Stress eventually forms into disease, health conditions and un-wellness, which become held in the female reproductive system; these imbalances are indicators that there is an emotional tether to a moment in the past, and the body is strained by the loss of its Life Force Energy. The only way the body knows how to tell you that something is wrong is by creating an imbalance so that you will acknowledge and process the experience so that your energy returns. Un-wellness/disease/health conditions are actually the voice of your body trying to send you a message, and it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to listen.
The Impact of Emotions on the Cervix
For many Women, our emotional tethers occur in moments of unwanted penetration – physical and energetic. Unwanted physical penetrations can be recognized in the form of sexual assault, rape or even painful sex that the Body wasn’t ready for. Unwanted energetic penetrations can be recognized as the allowance of your parents or family to dictate your life, the experience of an abusive relationship, sexual harassment or continued unwanted advances, feelings of unsafety in the workplace, codependency, addiction to individuals, etc. Energetic penetrations can be even more pervasive than physical, and can form equally strong emotional tethers. The cervix is like a database carrying all of our memories, and although we may have forgotten them in our minds, the cervix has not.
The Importance of Connecting to The Cervix for Healing
When a Woman consciously connects to her cervix through awareness and loving physical touch, the stories and memories of these penetrations become unlocked. While the process of unlocking these stories and experiences may be scary and internally painful, remembering, expressing, and integrating them is what unhooks that tether from the past and allows your life-force energy to return. When energy returns to your Body, it is then able to be put back to good use, bringing back health, wellness and vitality to the places that were being drained. Self healing means allowing your Body to do what feels natural; regenerate and return to a place of healthy homeostasis. Healing takes time and a willingness to listen to the messages that the Body is sending you.
And so, dear One, I ask you: Are you willing to connect to your cervix in order to reveal where you are emotionally tethered? Are you willing to remember in order to heal yourself? This is the gift of connecting to your Cervix.
Are you ready?
